December 1531, Mexico. The Virgin Mary appears to a Indian humble peasant, but nobody believes in him. On Her request the Indian wraps in his "tilma" some Castilian roses, mysteriously flowered on a bared scree. In front of the Bishop he opens the cap discovering the miracle: the image of the Virgin is impressed upon it. The image is extraordinarily real. The results of analysis are amazing. In the Virgin's eyes the 13 figures who witnessed the miracle are visible. The stars on her cloak are positioned exactly as they were in the miracle's day (12.12.1531). The painting technique used is unknown. The colours keep intact, the cloth is uncorrupted.
And that's not all: an extraordinary discovery reveals the Spanish origin (from Extremadura, Spain) of the name of Guadalupe and its incredible connection with the Evangelist Saint Luke.
Parts 1-4 of Introduction to Our Lady of Guadalupe The lecture on Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Miracles given by Luis Fernando Castaneda Monter on February 9, 2013 at Saint Francis Chapel in Boston's Prudential Center. About 34-45 minutes each
The Videos are in Sequential Order Do not skip Part One - It is very very good background to understand part 2-4.
Part One: He builds his case on understanding Aztec culture in the time of the Miracle. Its real talk about an idol-centered culture who worship creation rather than the Creator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMG-7naKeTs
Part Two: First missions were a disaster including fights between native people groups and fights between missionaries and people groups. When the missionaries trigger a 'plague' wiping out many native peoples. Then the prayer from a Franciscan for nothing but Divine Intervention! Heaven heard and responded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhPoYbThJ44
